A damaged HDMI port often takes the retimer IC — the chip that conditions the PS5's video signal — down with it. We test both under the microscope before touching anything, so you only pay for what's actually broken.

If the port is damaged or was poorly replaced before, a new port goes on under magnification, with any lifted pads and torn traces rebuilt.

The failed retimer chip comes off with controlled hot air and a new IC is aligned and reflowed in its place — fine-pitch micro-soldering done under the microscope.

Then you pay the port price. Diagnosis checks both under the microscope first: a port-only repair is $189, port plus retimer IC is $239, and you approve the quote before anything is billed.
A shop already replaced my HDMI port and it still says no signal. Now what?
That is the exact case this repair exists for. When a new port does not bring the picture back, the retimer IC behind it is usually damaged — often by the same event that killed the port. We inspect the previous work too, and rebuild any lifted pads or torn traces it left behind.
Is the retimer chip repairable, or does the board have to be replaced?
