What the repair involves

  1. Diagnosis: port, retimer, or both

    A damaged HDMI port often takes the retimer IC — the chip that conditions the PS5's video signal — down with it. We test both under the microscope before touching anything, so you only pay for what's actually broken.

  2. HDMI port replaced

    If the port is damaged or was poorly replaced before, a new port goes on under magnification, with any lifted pads and torn traces rebuilt.

  3. Retimer IC replaced

    The failed retimer chip comes off with controlled hot air and a new IC is aligned and reflowed in its place — fine-pitch micro-soldering done under the microscope.

  4. Tested to full 4K/HDR output

    We confirm a stable handshake and full 4K/HDR signal on a real display, including a cable-wiggle test, before your PS5 ships back.
