Why a student-run shop?

Iron Point Repair is student-owned and operated, based in Bozeman. No storefront, no layers between you and the repair — just one person, one microscope, and honest pricing.

  • Lower overhead, honest pricing. No storefront and no team to support — the price on the page is the price you pay.
  • Every board, under the microscope, personally. The student owner does the soldering on every repair, not just the tricky ones.
  • Direct communication. Questions go straight to the person fixing your console, not a call center.

Proof, not promises

We fix boards other shops replace. Every repair is done under the microscope and photographed — you see the finished work before you pay the balance.

How mail-in repair works

No surprises and nothing ships until you’re approved. Here’s the short version.

  1. Submit a repair request

Two minutes online. Don’t ship anything yet — we review every request first.

  2. Get approved and pay the deposit

We email your packing slip and a $50 deposit link. Pay it, then ship your console to the address on the slip — the deposit credits toward your total.

  3. Free diagnosis and quote

When your console arrives, we diagnose it free and email you a quote with photos of the actual fault — before you pay anything more.

  4. Repair, test, ship back

Typically 2–3 business days on the bench once your deposit and console arrive, plus shipping. Tested to full output, then returned with tracking.
